Chartered Accountancy is becoming one of the most desired career amongst the youth in India. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication in order to pursue it successfully and if you keep doing consistent hard work, you can get through it flourishing.
But is it really possible to
become a CA or to start your journey as a CA student if you had taken Science
stream in class 11th and 12th? Let’s find out!
The students who want to pursue
this course can enroll for CA entrance level examination i.e. CA Foundation
after appearing in 12th board exams. They will be eligible to appear
in the CA Foundation examination after appearing for 12th board
examination. The ICAI doesn’t object to Science students joining the CA course.
Surprisingly the Science
students do have an advantage too, pursuing this course is far easier for
science students because they are excellent in solving practical sums and Chartered
Accountants are well-known players of numbers in the finance world.
Students enrolled in the CA
course are required to get a minimum of 40 % marks in each subject and 50%
marks in the aggregate. As a result, you have to thoroughly research and
understand every subject. Negative marking is included in the objective papers.
Every question you answer
incorrect will deduct 0.25 mark, but every correct answer will give you an additional 1 mark.
Once you have cleared the entrance
exam of CA following 12th Science examinations, i.e. CA Foundation, you’re eligible for next
exam i.e. CA Intermediate.
These are the following steps
that a science student must take in order to become a Chartered Accountant:
Step 1- Register for CA Foundation course
Having no background of the Commerce
stream, can make it challenging for you to do the CA course but the CA Foundation course will clear all
your doubts and with little extra hard work and dedication, you can learn the
basics and continue to flourish.
Step 2- Registration for CA Intermediate or CA Inter
To be eligible to register for the CA Inter, the candidate must pass both the CA Foundation and the 12th grade. The ICAI has developed the Direct Entry Route, which allows students to participate in the CA Intermediate course without taking the Foundation examination, but that is mainly chosen by the commerce students since they already have a set base in the subject.
Step 3- Articleship
The goal of the ICAI's
three-year practical training program, which is called Articleship is to
prepare CA students to use theoretical knowledge in the real world and to
prepare them to enter the corporate sector immediately after qualifying as CA.
Step 4- Registration for CA
Final Course:
The student can apply for CA Final exam during the last six months of their three-year articled training period and the join the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and declare yourself as a "Chartered Accountant" after clearing the CA Final examination.
Now that you know all about joining the CA course after 12th Science, we wish you good luck with the course!
